All of our youth coaches who work with your students on a regular basis have applied for the volunteer position, are active believers, and have passed a background check. We assure you of the safest environment for your students in Student Ministries.
We serve snacks to students from 8:30-8:55 a.m. where students can hang out in The Loft. At 9:00 we begin our service with announcements, a weekly joke and game. Then we move into a time of song and a time of study of topics relevant to today's adolescent.
SMAC does not have any "member" benefits. If your student is in our age range (grades 6-12) they are welcome to any of our events.
Some students need an extra "nudge" in the door. Would you lay before your student a challenge? If your student will try either our Sunday service (Grounded) or our SMAC PODS for three straight meetings, we think our odds of them “wanting” to be here are great. If you'd like, challenge your student to try it for three weeks and see what happens.

Hopefully, we too are reinforcing what the students are learning in the home, but there are a few ways to reinforce what we are teaching here at SMAC.
Look at the topic of the messages that are being taught in Grounded. Then follow-up with your students to help cement the truths being taught. If your student is involved in a POD, then they should have a student book. Please ask your students if you can look over the things they are learning in their studies.
Permit them to teach! After a meeting, put yourself in the "students" place and ask them to "teach" you what they learned so you can grow! You may already know the truths they can restate from the meeting but psychologically you are letting your student know that it is good to learn and grow, and it also gives them the confidence to share the truths found in Scripture. Give it a try, I think you'll be surprised at the outcome!
